Cheryl Sorokin - President

Professional Experience: Attorney and consultant on corporate governance issues with Veaco Group, a corporate governance consulting organization. Executive Editor and Author: Nonprofit Governance and Management, 3rd Ed. Co-author: The Role of the Corporate Secretary: Facilitating Corporate Governance and the Work of Corporate Boards. Formerly Group Exec VP & Corporate Secretary of Bank of America NT&SA & BankAmerica Corporation. Former Spanish teacher.

Alan Sankin - Treasurer

Professional Experience: Attorney and Certified Public Accountant; Retired Vice President Tax and Treasurer at Dolby Laboratories Inc. (2007-2018) responsible for all tax matters of the company.  Previously held senior tax and treasury positions at Oracle, Fair Isaac  & Co., and Cisco Systems.

Volunteer Experience: Tax Counsel and Treasurer for Lawyers For One America, a pro bono legal services group based in Sausalito, California providing pro bono, tax and legal services to underserved individual clients and not for profit organizations in the region; Treasurer and Board Member for the Prosecutor’s Center for Excellence.

Education: A.B. from Syracuse University; J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law; L.LM in Taxation from the New York University School of Law, Graduate Division.


Gatian Cunningham

Professional: Chartered Financial Analyst and Member of the CFA Society San Francisco. Founder, owner, and principal, Hearth Capital Management, an investment management firm.  Formerly, partner at BA Investment Management, research analyst Bank of America Trust Department in San Francisco; political public relations employee in various Bay Area local races, and a researcher at the CIA.

Stan Green

Professional Experience: Retired Financial Services Professional. Previously Senior Vice President- Investments at Morgan Stanley and PaineWebber/UBS and Principal at Stanley F. Green, LLC, a Registered Investment Advisory firm.

Volunteer Experience: Marin County Financial Abuse Specialist Team (FAST); College of Marin Endowment’s Finance Advisory Committee; Investment Committee of Community Action Marin; founder of Marin Financial Planning Day; Member of the Rotary Club of San Rafael Harbor. Formerly, Board Treasurer of Osher Marin JCC and CVNL; Marin County Commission on Aging, Whistlestop Finance Committee; S.F. Marilee Pierotti Lau      

Professional Experience: Retired National Partner in Charge of the Employee Benefit Plan Practice for KPMG, LLP. Marilee is currently providing audit and accounting consulting services for CPA firms specializing in employee benefit plan audits and is the Consulting CPA on Staff for the Colorado Society of CPAs overseeing their Peer Review Program.

Volunteer Experience: Twin Cities Village; steering committee member, Board of Fellows, Santa Clara University; Executive Committee member. Various volunteer committees for the AICPA and California Society of CPA’s. Founding member and past chair of the AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center’s Executive Committee.

Sparkie Spaeth

Professional Experience: Retired Director and Manager of public health/community health programs Marin County Department of Health and Human Services, focused on primary prevention programs in the areas of substance abuse, tobacco control, nutrition, Maternal & Child Health, WIC, HIV, as well as homeless planning and policy work, and many collaborations with schools, non-profits, health care organizations, law enforcement and cities throughout the County.
